Optical and infrared interferometry has transformed high-angular-resolution astronomy, revealing stellar surfaces, mass transfer in binaries, the inner structure of planet-forming disks, exoplanet atmospheres, and the Galactic Center black hole. I will highlight key breakthroughs from the CHARA and VLTI arrays, with special attention to my own work with the MIRC/MIRC-X/MYSTIC instruments. Looking ahead, I will discuss next-generation concepts like the Planet Formation Imager and space-based interferometers that hold the promise to resolve planet formation in action and image Earth-like planets around nearby stars.
